Aslam Inamdar has been selected to represent Team India in the upcoming Asian Kabaddi Championship. The youngster will certainly add more value to the Indian team and is one of the players to watch out for in the Championships, which takes place in Busan, South Korea from June 27.
Born on 23 February 2000, Aslam Inamdar comes from a humble background in the village called Taklibhan in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. He has an elder brother. His father passed away in 2011, and it made the living difficult for the family. His brother worked as a gardener to complete his studies. Inamdar washed glasses in a tea stall while his mother worked as domestic help. The family faced several challenges, but Inamdar made sure to keep going.
Aslam Inamdar majorly plays as Raider. He is an all-rounder and has been a star for Puneri Paltan. Inamdar is known for his speed and agility. Usually, one can see him go for bonus points rather than hand touches. Since he relies on his speed, the defenders usually try to tackle him on his upper body. He is also known for his tactical knowledge and the ability to analyze the game better.
Aslam Inamdar is one of the players, who had featured in the Yuva Paltan team. He represented the young team for years before making his senior debut. He also plays for Insurekot Sports Private Limited and Air India.
Aslam Inamdar successfully made the transition from Yuva Paltan to the senior team. Earlier, Aslam Inamdar used to play in the local teams. He attended trials for Air India. While he couldn't make it to the team initially, he attended practice sessions and managed to impress coach Ashok Shinde. Later, he became a part of the team. Aslam Inamdar featured for Puneri Paltan in PKL 8. He was impressive with 169 total points. He was retained by the team for PKL 9, the season which helped him become a star.
Aslam Inamdar went for INR 20 Lakhs in the Pro Kabaddi League Puneri Paltan retained him in the PKL 9 for the same amount. However, his numbers are likely to increase this time around, considering how good he was in the previous season.
